Wisp enhaled deeply as the western wind buffeted her face. It was a beautiful clear-skyed day, and not a cloud in sight. The frigid ground seemed to be warming up as spring prepared to drive winter out. Wisp crouched down as she spotted a small herd of dikdiks (look it up) And crouched down to stalk her prey
Askari waited until Wisp had caught her prey to come up to her. "Wisp?" he started, in that deep monotone voice of his. "I've scented some trespassers near the northern border, but their scent doesn't match Cavernpack's." he explained, flicks his ears.
The dikdiks dissapeared into the underbrush. At first Wisp looked up irritably, but then when Askari gave her his news, She was immeadiatly concerned. "Are you sure its not just a a band of outsiders?" She asked, eyes intent and alert. "It smelled like an organized pack of some sort." Said Askari. Wisp mulled this over, They had a huge territory to partrol, as they were mostly nomadic, so keeping other predators off their land was difficult. "The Northern borders a long way off, a Daywalk for anyone but a messenger or a wind wolf, like me and you.". Askari nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Chains is still a formidable wolf though, ive seen him run when hunting..." Wisp said, thinking, "We shall bring him to mark the northern border as well." Askari nodded, They were going on a quest.
"Do you want me to go get him?" Askari asked, a paw already in the air to run. "Yes, thank you." Wisp nodded. "Meet me by the Half Ledge." she added, referring to the small cliff that was only a league away from where they were now. Nodding his understanding, Askari set off at a brisk jog, then slowly emerging into a full out sprint toward camp, where he hoped that Chains would be.
